Advanced Certificate Program
The Middle School Education Advanced Certificate program extendeds certification for childhood or adolescent educators:
- Adolescent Educators (grades 7-12) earn an extension to grades 5-6
- Childhood Educators (grades 1-6) earn an extension to grades 7-9

In addition to base certification in adolescence or childhood education, students must have 30 credits in one content area:
Students will complete two courses for a total of 6 credits, offered in a hybrid format (approximately two thirds online instruction and one third on-campus sessions). Students will complete the course work in two semesters (fall and spring).
- Earth Science
- Foreign Language
- History/Social Studies
- General Science
(18 credits in two additional science areas beyond initial science specialty)
